3: You want a firm edge on the underside of the label. Some of the yellow and Carmine from step 3 has come down into the lower part of the bottle. Wait for the label to dry a bit. Don't rush an area that needs drying. The lemon needs to be painted. I often ignore light and shade in lemons; instead, go to the Cadmium Yellow Light in your paint supply, dig in with your brush and paint the light side of the lemon with your rich Cadmium Yellow Light. Leave a dry bit of highlight and finish the shadow side of the lemon with Cadmium Yellow. Immediately add a dark Ultramarine or Cobalt Blue cast shadow. Starting at the base of the lemon, paint right to the bottle.

The lower edge of the label should be dry by now. Paint your cast shadow up into the bottle. Paint the bottle below the label using Cobalt Blue and Carmine, allowing it to blend with the color painted up from the cast shadow. Let whatever dark color you use mix by itself.
