“Alpha?” Irwin squeezed my hands. “What is it?”

“I didn’t even ask if you were on birth control or wanted to use a condom. We didn’t talk about kids or ----” I stumbled over my words.

How had I – someone trained in mental health – not considered any of that?

“Okay, let’s talk about it now. No, I’m not on birth control. It made me too moody. While I’ve always used condoms in hookups it was hot to have you cum inside of me, and what about kids?” Irwin said, answering my questions almost as quickly as I posed them.

“Well,” I said almost sinking back into my therapist talk, but Irwin shook his head. “Well, fucking like that is how we get them.”

“You passed sex ed then,” he smirked.

“This is serious, Irwin!”

“I know kids are serious. Do you not want them?” He asked, his brows knitting together.

“I do. Of course, I do! I grew up in a big happy family and statistically people who are happy in their large sibling groups want a lot of kids and ----”

“Okay, statics,” he nodded. “Do you want kids? You, not the average person with your life experiences.”

“Yes!” I nodded. “But that doesn’t matter if you----”

“Don’t,” Irwin pursed his lips and shook his head. “Don’t act like I don’t know about birth control and condoms and how babies are made. Maybe I should’ve stopped to ask you if you wanted kids, because I do want kids. I’ve always wanted a family. I want to build a family ten times – no, a hundred times, warmer than mine. I want happy little kids who know they’re loved by both their parents. But I know how babies are made and if I wanted you to wrap that thing up first, I would’ve said something.”

“Sassy Irwin. This is new.”

“No, it’s not,” he laughed and squeezed my hands. “Just because I’m afraid of screwing everything up sometimes doesn’t mean I don’t know what I want. I figured we were on the same page when you didn’t magically pull a condom out of your ass.”

“We are, but I should’ve ---”

“I’m going to bite you, Alpha. Stop it! I mean it!” He was serious, but laughter edged into his voice. “Stop beating yourself up. If I didn’t appreciate cave-Alpha behavior in a mate, you probably wouldn’t be my mate. I’m going to have to take back up yoga to keep up with the pretzeling of my legs, but I liked it. That’s the one thing that makes sense. I loved what we did, and I felt how you loved it. So, don’t go overthinking it now.”

I kissed him because I wasn’t sure what else to say. Despite our mysterious yet unknown third hanging over our heads everything was falling into place.

“Now, I’d like you to fuck me again and yes, it’s okay if you put a baby in me. Hell, you can try to put two in me if you like since you’re a twin and all.”

I pulled him close and cupped his ass cheeks hard.
