Sol and I opened the door to the Schöner Himmel and found Florian and Ollie frozen in the middle of a wrestling lock, staring back at us as though we had intruded. Ollie was the first to react, squirming to try to free himself. "Your husband is manhandling me!"

I glanced at Sol, whose expression mirrored my confusion.

"What's going on?" I asked as Ollie resumed fighting.

"Come over here and help me," Florian said calmly as he redoubled his efforts to pin our Bucket in place. Using his superior strength, he maneuvered Ollie so that his back was to us. "He kept scratching his hips. I was about to chew him out for being behind the counter with a skin condition, but look—"

Flor tugged Ollie's shirt up a bit to reveal angry red lines streaking across his back. I frowned, not knowing what I was looking at.

"Oh my heavens," Sol exclaimed happily, "you're growing! Those are stretch marks. We need to get you some lotion. Your skin is trying to keep up."

Ollie shot Sol a look. "I'm twenty-three! I can't be growing anymore."

"Sure you can." Flor released him and grinned at us, then bustled around in his cabinets, getting food out. "I've been feeding you as much as Gabriel these last months. Since you two have about the same metabolism, and Gabriel is over two meters; it stands to reason that your body might try to make one last push."

That, and there was another truth we were too considerate to say to Ollie's face: he'd been quite poor in America. Combining lower nutrition with the high stress of just trying to get by, it was no wonder his body had gone into survival mode instead of growing any taller. But now that we had him in Austria, we'd keep him safe and fed, and Bryn and Moritz would love him as much as he could stand.

"Sit down," Flor commanded, and Ollie plopped on a stool at the counter. "Time for your second breakfast."
