I paced around my house, pre-heat itching under my skin. I wouldn’t be in full heat for another few hours, but I was already craving a knot.

I briefly considered going to the bedroom and getting started with my favorite dildo, but quickly dismissed the idea. My heat wouldn’t be any shorter if I started taking care of the urges early, but I would be more sore and exhausted by the end.

No, I had to push it as long as possible.

My feet carried me to the refrigerator, and I was staring into it before realizing that I was there. The last of my Thanksgiving leftovers had been turned into sandwiches so that I could grab them between waves. Beside them sat a few jars of soup, and a handful of burritos. With the prepared food, and packaged items like energy bars and microwave meals, I figured I would at least have my basic needs covered.

Still, I was peckish, and wanted something sweet. I pushed aside a jug of milk, only to find the shelf empty behind it.

I groaned, remembering that I’d finished off Roland’s latest test creation that night before.

“Cookies,” I mumbled. “Brownies. I need something fast.”

I walked over to the pantry and pulled open the door. My eyes landed on a jar of peanut butter, and I grabbed it.

“Peanut butter cookies it is,” I stated, turning on the oven to preheat as I walked past. I snagged an egg from the fridge, and carried both to the island.

I grimaced at how light my sugar canister felt, but it turned into a scowl once I opened it. It was completely empty.

I started back to the pantry, then remembered that Ryan had grabbed the end of the bag for his baking.

“Fine,” I muttered. “Brown sugar works just as well for cookies.”

I grabbed the smaller canister, but groaned in frustration when it was equally empty.

“Ryan!” I shouted at the ceiling.

I knew it wasn’t his fault, but I was still annoyed that he hadn’t told me he’d used up all my sugar. I’d been trying to avoid the post-holiday shopping frenzy, so hadn’t gone to the store since before Thanksgiving.

“Fuck, fuck, fuckity, fuck,” I huffed, stomping one foot for emphasis. All I wanted was something sweet before my heat started, and it didn’t look like it was going to happen.

I paced the kitchen, trying to figure out what options I had.

“Fresh fruit…” I glanced at the island. “Nil… Honey…” I opened the pantry and pulled out an almost empty honey bear with some sad crystallized bits at the bottom. “Strike two…”

I returned to the fridge and rummaged through it. “How the hell did I do everything else to prep for my heat, and forget the sweets?” I grumbled.

I closed the fridge, turned, and sat on the floor with my back to the door.

The oven dinged, letting me know that it had reached baking temp. I stood and walked over to turn it off.

“I should have saved a couple of those cupcakes Roland brought over on Saturday,” I sighed.
