Introduction

Patients with ADHD commonly report that they are unable to complete tasks because other less important tasks or distractions get in the way. Having a short attention span is part of ADHD. We do not view having a short attention span as being associated with a lack of intelligence or ability but rather as suggesting that people with ADHD need to use extra skills in order to cope.

There are many examples of people who can do extraordinary things despite having certain limitations. An extreme example is the musician Stevie Wonder. He used extra coping skills in order to become a top recording star, despite the fact that he is blind.

The goal of treatment is to help you function at an optimal level. We will use several strategies to help you accomplish this goal.
