Heaven continued to box his punching bag for a long time after Yulia's departure.

If her wolf had been hurt that she'd pushed him away like she had, and he'd needed to let off steam at the gym, things were different now. This time, it was the man who needed to release his tension. Because, gods be praised, Lia's kisses inflamed his veins and left him aflame from head to toe.

If he wanted to be able to concentrate on his list of suspects, he'd better let go and forget that his whole body was ravaged by a devastating desire.

Lords... He had this woman under his skin, in his blood, in his...

Soul, breathed the wolf.

Soul, Heaven confirmed, smiling for a second.

Concentrating, he struck the black and red leather again and again until it buckled under the force of his fists. Heaven would have preferred to have a real opponent, but no one in the Pack could match his brutality in combat.

Perhaps he could have gone to visit the Dragons, to have a good little fight on equal terms. The Dragons ruled the supernatural world with an iron fist and delegated to the only people they ‘somewhat’ trusted, the Great Elementals. Heaven was fortunate to know these tough guys well, with their overweening pride and flaming anger. He was friends with several of them and never missed an opportunity to visit. Mainly because it annoyed them terribly to have a wolf as great as him in their paws. And in the paws of their companions.

With his mind made up, he called Teren, the Nemedyn, and proposed a little one-on-one combat, which the Dragon accepted. The Nemedyn was the most powerful creature, the Dragon who controlled the entire world of semi-immortals. He was law, justice and authority. And he loved the idea of being able to punch Heaven in the face...

They'd known each other for many years now. In fact, ever since Heaven had become Grand Elementary. Taking on such responsibilities had scared him for a long time, but now he enjoyed holding the reins of Earth's powers in his hands. He had seen the horrors that bad leaders could inflict on those around them. And Heaven had vowed never to allow that to happen again.

He threw his white shirt into a laundry basket as he left the gym. He was about to go home and change when the Bond between him and Yulia began to vibrate. Then a buzzing. And finally, a dull pain imploded in his chest, knocking him to his knees.

“Yulia!” he shouted.

He straightened up quickly, as Aryn emerged from between a circle of her soldiers. Her face was grave and pale, so surprised had she been by Heaven's cry.

“What are you doing here?” he growled, fixing his predatory gaze on her. “I ordered you to accompany Lia to Blayne's!”

“She didn't tell me,” the she-wolf announced calmly. “What's wrong with her? Is she hurt?”

Heaven shook his head, unable to understand what was happening, and began to run as his heart tore in his chest.
