Chapter 15

Alexis

I wake up gasping. Is this real or another dream? I shake my head. Where the hell am I? I’m dizzy as fuck, and my head feels like it will explode. “What the fuck". I bounce and hit my head on something metal. “Fuck" ok. I’m moving. Probably in a trunk of a car. My heart is pounding. I take a deep breath. I’ve gotta take control of the situation. My hands are tied in front of me, but… my feet are free. Idiots. Hopefully, we’re still in New York. Please, God. This is not what I wanted to do today. I need to make sure Rainy is ok. I can do this.

I feel around for anything I can use to get the duct tape off my wrists. My fingers glide across something sticking out above my head. My guess is part of the mechanism that opens the trunk. I get the edge of the tape hooked onto it and pull as hard as I can. “Fuck…. Come on…!” It’s not working. I hold my breath. Then, using all the upper body strength I have, I jerk my hands downward. As I do this. I slice open my hand. The tape rips, and I gasp. “Fuck!” I pull the rest of the tape off. It’s too dark to see how bad the cut is. I can feel it’s deep. I use the tape to wrap around my injured hand. Hopefully, I won’t bleed out too much. Suddenly, we come to a stop. I can hear them speaking in Russian. I can understand them. “Take the girl to the boat. Put her in my room. I have to tie up a few things before we go back to Moscow.” Dominick says. “Yes, boss,” that sick fuck Niko says. Here we go. I hear two doors open and then close. Then a car starts and pulls away.

If we’re on a dock, I can knock out Niko and make a run for it or dive into the water. I shiver. The fucking water would be freezing, but… it’s better than staying with them. I hear the key being inserted into the trunk. Here we go. I get into position. If I remember correctly, he keeps his gun on his left side under the breast of his suit jacket. I take a deep breath, and the feeling of fire ignites in my blood. The second the light from the street lights hits my eyes, I lunge. Niko looks shocked. I open his jacket, grab his gun, take the safety off and fire at both of his legs. He screams in agony and crumples to the ground. Jumping out of the trunk, I check my surroundings. I’m still in New York, Thank fuck. I hear yelling from the boat. “Shit,” I break into a run up the dock. I need to get the fuck out of here. I hear gunshots behind me. “Fuck" I’m not fucking dying today. I serpentine. Duck and dodge their fire until I make it to the streets and tall buildings.
