Porritt hung up the phone and smiled at Williams. ‘Sounds like another brick in the wall, Mike.’ He picked up the phone again and asked Alison to get him CS Burnett in York. ‘Dave? Jonathan Porritt here. Got some news for you.’

‘Yes, sir?’

‘One of Jim Stevenson’s ops has paid off. He tracked someone taking photos of the Thomson kids and found they were sent to the following address.’ He read out the address. ‘Right in your area, Dave.’

‘Pickering, huh? Don’t know the house, but we’ll find out about it, sir.’

‘Quiet as you can please. It could be where they’re holding Jane. Do a quick recce and let me know what it looks like.’

‘Will do. It’ll probably be an hour or more before I can get back to you.’

Porritt hung up. ‘Let’s see the map, Mike. Where’s Pickering?’

Williams got the map over to the table and they pored over it. ‘There it is. Pretty close to Scarborough, sir. That could be our local connection to the fishermen.’

‘Right. How far from here, do you think?’

‘Mmm. Maybe eighty or ninety miles.’ Williams used his fingers to measure the distance. ‘Probably a three-hour drive?’

‘Just a bit too far to nip up and have a look. Let’s wait and see what Dave comes back with.’
