Consciousness came from mind.
Mind is coming from alaya.
From alaya, all kinds of thoughts will come,
Just waves of the river.
Anything can occur from alaya, and from the misinterpretation of the manifestation of Buddha nature, even though negativity does not exist, negativity can be caused from this basis of habit, due to not excelling in Dharmakaya. Those dark leaders brought so much suffering by not having any hesitation to kill many beings, even though there was no benefit to them. They are now gone, but their names still remain. From that, negative karma could be reproduced. While they were living, they lived with fear and frustration, and when they died, they had nothing to carry with them from all the effort they had made except the habit of hatred, anger, violence, and fear that is following their minds through future rebirths after leaving their negative legacy in this world. Through the nonbeliever habit of lack of belief in the karmic system and only seeing what was in front of them, they did whatever was possible to materially obliterate others with hatred, including their own countrymen.
Nonbelievers are extremely absurd. Although they know and believe that the actions of these harmful leaders have occurred, they have no way to explain them except as temporary circumstances between human beings. Since nonbelievers do not believe in anything, they think everything just happens by itself, like mushrooms appearing overnight after a rainfall in the forest. If one believes that beings have continuous mind, and that habits are created by previous intentions, the genocide of all the millions of people who were killed by these harmful leaders is understood to have had the power to occur from intention. Even if the specific causes cannot be seen, it is obvious that these leaders were more powerfully harmful than other beings, and this mental power was based on habits that were seeded in alaya. From these habits, their thoughts became reality, and from their karmic debts to each other, all of these killers and all of those they killed were caught in the winds of their karma, acting out the habits they had seeded from their thoughts. Although these leaders killed millions to acquire power for themselves, as quickly as one moment passed into another moment, they had no power left to use and they died. Even if these leaders thought they were acting to benefit others with similarly twisted ideas, these others also had to die, since anything that exists materially cannot be continuous but will change, so whatever they could have imagined to be beneficial was only very, very temporary.
Of course, in the last few generations, there have also been some special leaders who have given positive examples showing the way to cause the result of peace. To create peace in this world, it is so meaningful to have a spiritual view and to believe in cause and effect, which prevents negative karma and causes positive karma, as many histories of Bodhisattvas from ancient times reveal according to causal Mahayana theory.
