I’m about to do something that’s so beneath me right now. Emma insists feeding Harlow’s ego is the only way she won’t suspect anything. It feels disgustingly dirty, actually.

Four days have passed since the incident in Warrensburg, where I accused Harlow of attempting to poison me. I tried to phone her cell phone on Monday, but I’m not surprised that my call was sent to voicemail each of the three times I attempted to reach her.

There is no doubt that I am more than happy to never see the bitch again and have my wedding transferred to someone else, but that’s not how it’s going to go. Harlow had every opportunity to get over whatever shit happened between her and Ben, put it behind her, and move on. The past is the past; I do not owe that woman an apology for being the new woman in Ben’s life. I never asked her to be my friend. I made that perfectly clear before knowing the truth about their sordid past. I also made it clear when I did find out that I wasn’t going to waste my time in meaningless chat with her about Ben.

He belongs to me now, and she was hired to do a job. One that was all about him and me. If she couldn’t handle being professional, that was her own damn fault. I was willing and able to keep it strictly business. She failed on that delivery, and instead, she chose to tamper with my safety, drug me, then humiliate me in front of my men and my friends and whoever the fuck else was in that breakfast room that morning.

So, yeah, I could just fire her self-privileged ass and move on, but Harlow is not getting off that easily, not after what she did to me. This has nothing to do with me, Ben, and the messy triangle she created. This has to do with me being a bride and her shitting all over my wedding four months before it's supposed to take place.

Emma did some digging and found where Harlow’s assistant hangs out after work and went to pay her a visit. Turns out Victoria likes the occasional female attention, and Emma had the assistant eating out of her hand.

Her words, not mine. I don’t even want to imagine what my fiercely active bisexual best friend had to do to get me this appointment today.

Unfortunately, my two friends could not join me today. They’re super busy with the start-up of their own marketing firm. Oscar said he wants to bring them on board with his tattoo shop and wants me to think about ways we can utilize their services for our design business together, so I have a lot on my plate at the moment.

To make matters worse, I haven’t even got a wedding dress. I’ve designed a ton of them, but nothing that stands out as the one for me. Other than a gigantic veil which I love and may have been inspired by Ben’s imagination that day on the pier in Greenport, I have nothing else.
