Chapter 7

THE 3 Rs

Finley caught up with Henry in the hall the next morning. “Well, that fashion fad was a Fin-tastic failure,” she said, plunking her backpack down beside her cubby.

“What do you mean?” Henry asked. “We were just getting started.”

“Mom and Dad weren’t exactly happy about me using the forks,” Finley said. “Dad didn’t even remember me asking. I’m going to have to tell all of our customers their forklet orders are canceled and refund their money.”

Henry frowned. “I’m sorry. But I’m sure everyone will understand.”

“I feel bad,” Finley said. “I should have asked if I could use more forks, but it looked like we had so many. And I was planning on paying them back after I made it big.”

“They’ll forgive you,” Henry said. “And you can pay them back once you think of a new product and sell millions of them.”

Finley mustered a smile. “Thanks. You always know what to say.” She unzipped her backpack and took out her books. “To make things worse, Evie made spoonlets without telling me. She’s such a copycat.”

“Who could blame her?” Henry said. “She knows a good idea when she sees it.” He hung up his jacket. “Come on. Let’s go.”

Finley followed Henry into the classroom. The desks had been pushed together into groups of three. A cardboard box full of trash sat in the middle of each group.

“What is all this stuff?” Henry asked, taking a seat next to Finley.

Olivia set her bag down and sat across from Henry. “Ew. It looks like junk to me.”
