The whole subject of water use and conservation underscores the fact that our choices in so many countless little areas may result in broad, cumulative ramifications in the world around us, many of which we never see. We believe that the only meaningful “revolution” is a personal revolution, whereby we choose to live our lives reasonably, rightly, and lightly on the earth.

Ecological living can and should be practiced in the cities. To do so, we must value self-sufficiency as much as—really, more than—convenience and be willing to make a series of minor adjustments in our accustomed wasteful way of doing things. A resolve to conserve water is great way to begin creating a better way of living.
