Sidney Epton (see his contribution to chapter 7) sums it up as follows: "I see every Jewish achievement, every Jewish virtue as weakening the cause of the anti-Semites, and I see every example of Jewish sectarianism, `racial' exclusivity and ordinary wrongdoing as strengthening it."

But I wish to close the chapter on exclusiveness with this contribution by Jean-Paul Pecker:

"There is no greater task today than the fight against all racism; than the fight of humanism against all exclusions; than the fight of free, open, and tolerant thought against all dogma. This is what tolerance is about. And it is intolerable that there should continue to be in mature, rational human beings efforts to exclude `the others' be they women, blacks, Arabs, Jews, Hindus, Tamils, or atheists from living and thinking in freedom."
