Chapter 10: The Gift of Time

Years passed as Phoenixia and Drakon observed the world around them evolve, but they remained youthful in their isolated area of the Enchanted Forest. They followed as kingdoms disintegrated, civilizations developed and collapsed, and wars were fought. And despite everything, they stayed together, their love for one another growing stronger daily.

They came across a long-gone magician who offered them the gift of time one day as they explored the jungle. The wizard said he could restore Phoenixia and Drakon's normal aging and allow them to once more live as mortals.

Phoenixia and Drakon eagerly accepted the wizard's offer, looking forward to living a regular life for the first time. But, instead, as their bodies grew older, their skin wrinkled, and their hair grew gray, they experienced a burst of energy. Yet they didn't care because they could now once more feel the delights and pains of mortal life.

Phoenixia and Drakon were full of wonder and enthusiasm as they headed out into the world. They visited far places, interacted with many cultures, and made friends from all walks of life. In addition, they savored life's little pleasures like eating delectable food, enjoying music, and enjoying the sunset.

But as time passed, Phoenixia and Drakon became aware that they were aging more quickly than usual. Moreover, they understood that the magician had only granted them a brief gift of time and that they would soon revert to their immortal status.

Phoenixia and Drakon were aware of their approaching doom but didn't let it bring them down. Instead, they lived life to the fullest while savoring their shared moments. They also understood their love would survive forever, whatever form it took, as their mortal lives ended.
