THE POWER OF AGREEMENT

AS THE WEEKS AND MONTHS went by and we continued to experience Holy Ghost revival, the Spirit of God was teaching me to lead the corporate prayer meetings. Each was different and presented different challenges. Learning to be led by the Spirit is just that— learning. I was spending as much time in private prayer and waiting on God as I was in corporate gatherings, seeking wisdom to obey the Spirit of God.

As I mentioned, before revival, it seemed that often when a group of people gathered to pray, long silences between prayers became uncomfortable and awkward. Also, it seemed difficult to engage everyone to focus in prayer with the one who was praying aloud.

In my book, The Praying Church, I detail many lessons we learned about corporate prayer through this time. I want to mention one lesson we learned that can make or break a corporate prayer meeting. That is the need to learn to pray in agreement.
