Chapter fifteen

“You were supposed to be convincing her to be with you. How are we supposed to do that when you can’t even get her to speak to you? You’re supposed to be convincing her you are her mate, and all she does is refuse to see you. ‘Fuck off and die’ was her last response, I believe.” Aeneas paces back and forth as I remain seated in his office, my ankle propped up on my knee as my foot bounces lightly. “You were supposed to get her to fall for you, not destroy any possibility of a relationship before it could even begin!”

His anger is taking over, the vein in his neck bulging, his claws springing free from his hands as he rips into the chair next to mine.

“Alpha, I can’t help it. I can’t fucking stand her. She is annoying and can almost put you to shame in terms of stubbornness.” I stand and place my hand on his shoulder. “We will claim her territory, and I will make you proud. I announced the mate bond in front of the council. She will have to go through with the ceremony and then we will destroy her precious image in front of her pack. It’s just a matter of time.”

Aeneas nods and rips through the front of my shirt as he yanks me closer, his wolf’s red eyes burning into mine. “She will be destroyed, and you will ensure it happens shortly after the ceremony or after you let me break her in properly for a few hours.”

A soft laugh echoes in the room as the shadows begin to shift and take over the corner furthest from us. “It won’t be that easy, my malicious Alpha. You can do better than that – finish your revenge and release me. I’m not a pet to be kept.” A pair of golden eyes materializes in the corner before the shadows fall from the rest of her body. “You know she doesn’t feel the bond completely, Aeneas, because it isn’t a real bond. She will figure it out and if she doesn’t, then Nightshade will. My sister isn’t clueless. Mother forbid she meets her true mate again, then no amount of magic will keep her under your influence.”

Aeneas crosses the room in three steps, slamming his hand into her throat and growling deep from his chest. “You promised results. Don’t forget what happens if you can’t keep your end of the bargain. I’d hate to have such young blood on my hands, but I’m not against it either.” He leans in, sniffing her throat and licking along her neck. Forcing her down to her knees, he unzips his slacks. The shudder in her shoulders isn’t unusual since they started this agreement.

“Adolphé, get out of here and find a way into her pack lands. I don’t expect I’ll be needed for the rest of the day while the little witch accepts her punishment.” He sneers down at her, pulling his cock free and smacking her in the face with it.
