If I was going to see my mom, I needed new clothes and maybe a hairbrush. But I had no car and my purse was in the destroyed wreckage. Maybe it was already confiscated. If the police tracked me down as the owner of that mangled vehicle and went to my house, they would have most likely seen the destruction there. Then they’d check it out, find a shit load of dead bodies scattered throughout, and basically... I couldn’t go back home because my life was over. I was on the run at this point.

I guess I’d be calling in some favors. Once all of this was over, that is.

I looked around at the three men who were all more or less off-putting today. G was pretty much the same, quiet and distant, but I could tell he was thinking something over in his mind. Sunny was looking a little anxious, and I wasn’t sure if that was because of last night or the naughty things I had done to him this morning. He had lost his virginity in one more way at least—I licked my lips, remembering the way he had felt on my tongue. And Von, well, he was off. Arms crossed like a petulant child, he refused to speak to me most of the day. I ignored him as best as I could, but in truth, it hurt my feelings. I loved making love to him. He was amazing. And it had been more than just mindless sex for me. He had given me honesty, and protection, and kindness in a way I rarely received. Hell, he’d killed for me. So yes, it changed something for me. This let me know that Von, despite being, well, a demonic murderer, genuinely cared about me. My heart warmed to him, and the rest of them, and I was starting to almost regret letting them go. But there wasn’t any other way, was there?

Nothing else to do but to solve this and end it, right?

Sunny bought me some new clothes, and then some lunch. The rest of the day was spent with them, simply wasting time. I needed to waste a shit ton of time before I could face my mom. I needed more time to steel my nerves against that woman.

But the more time I spent with those three, the more I knew wasting time was only going to make this harder. I didn’t want that.

Another thing that was carrying on far too long was the attacks. I had woken up that morning hoping that the previous night’s events had been a fluke. However, my morning walk was quickly interrupted by a sneaky little attack, followed by another. By midday, I was really tired of it.

I admit, I’d grown used to people thinking I was dumb over the years, so it didn’t bother me much anymore, but the guys were annoying me with the way they purposefully thought they could keep me in the dark.

Sunny and Gargoyle disappeared sometime during my fifteenth trip into a clothing store.
