At the beginning, we traveled to Poland a lot, three or four times a year, and we called home often. My mum has seven siblings and they all live within a range of about 60 miles. While we were there, we kept them all together, but since we left, they never do anything together. It was normal for the whole family, really all of them, to meet at my grandmother’s house and we would all do things together. After we left, there was not a single time when they met for Christmas. It felt like we were the ones who said, hey let’s do things together, let’s meet! But now they fight with one another. Anyway, my parents still are in close touch with my grandmother and aunt. They call every week. I, on the other hand, don’t call very often.
