The main intervention in the case study at the beginning of this chapter was a Hidden Ability Reframe, wherein we acknowledged the intention and skill of the part that was causing the fear and gave it a new purpose in the clientâs life.
How to Reframe Effectively
As with everything else in hypnotic coaching, reframing begins with your mindset as a coach. While listening to your clients talk about the issue, consider the following:
Where or when can some aspect of this problem be useful?
What meaning could the client be making about the situation that he has not considered yet?
What is the client missing (perspective/understanding) that, if he werenât, would making the difference for him now?
What skill must be present for the client to have the problem?
