Frederick Brook Hitch FRBS 1877-1957

Sculptor of statues, memorials and portrait busts. The son of sculptor Nathaniel Hitch, he was born in London and educated at Tunbridge Wells, studying art at the RA Schools. He exhibited at the RA from 1906 to 1947. His pieces were portrait busts and figure statuettes, often of allegorical and mythological subjects. In addition, he produced a number of war memorials, medals and equestrian statues in bronze and marble, including the Canadian National Commemorative War Memorial, Ottawa.
