After an explosion, the bomb squad helps local police officers search the area. If they find more bombs, they disarm or detonate them safely. They also look for evidence to help police figure out who is responsible for the bomb.

A bomb may leave a mark that can be identified or use an ingredient that can be traced. Some bomb makers have a specific style. Bomb squad experts are trained to find these clues and identify the bomb maker. The bomb squad is also trained to notice similarities among several bombs. If they do, they can link them to the same bomb maker.
