Guys, I do not need a lecture from you right now. I’m at uni, remember? I get those every day. (See what I did there, trying to inject a bit of humour. Did it work? No? It felt kind of flat at this end too, but you get what I was attempting.)

For those of you telling me that Fin saying he wants to show me something is a euphemism, you guys need to grow up. Had I thought for a second that he was implying something untoward, I would have used my vampire strength to ensure that he could never make that sort of suggestion to any woman again. Trust me on that. (And just so you know, that applies to any bloke, not just my ex.)

So here’s how I see it. This evening is a good thing. This way, I can talk to Fin and tell him I’m seeing someone. That I’m off the market. Spoken for. Then again, maybe I’m completely jumping to conclusions. It could be that he just wants to show me a secret library that only the lecturers have access to. (I will admit, that does look odd now I’ve written it, but it would be super cool, wouldn’t it?) Anyway, whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. This is a purely platonic meeting. By the time the evening is over, I will have told him I have a boyfriend.

But …

All right, I’m stuck now. I mean, do you think I should tell him it’s Noah I’m dating? On the one hand, it seems kind of important to bring up and silly not to. But if he and Noah were on better terms, it would be something he’d already know, so maybe I should give Noah the chance to tell him. After all, sibling relationships are complicated at the best of times and the last thing I want is to be the reason things get even worse between them.

Talking of siblings, Glen has messaged several times today. He’s apologised for the weekend, which I don’t think he actually did before. He also asked how my lectures were going and said that he’d be home around seven. He’s not going drinking first, but apparently he needs to do an hour or so of group study in the med students’ library.

As much as I hoped he’d be home a little earlier, this might actually work out, as it means I don’t have to explain the whole Fin thing until I’m back from our date. No!!! Not date. You know what I mean. Meeting. Our meeting. I told Glen I was going out with someone from my course, at which he sent a ridiculous smiley-face emoji. Given the lecture I gave him on being open and honest, I’m well aware of what a hypocrite I am. Which is why I sent another message back.

It’s not that straightforward, I said. I’ll explain when you get home.

I was tempted to ask if Collina was in his study group, but I’m not sure what I can do about that even if she is.
