Miles and Directions

0.0 Start hiking east on the paved trail from the southeast corner of the Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum. Pass the dirt-and-rock return trail on the left (north); stay right on the paved trail toward the Spruce Tree House ruins.

0.2 Stay left (north) to visit the ruins; the trail to the right (east) bypasses the ruins.

0.3 Come to the Spruce Tree House ruins. Continue hiking south.

0.4 Turn left (south) onto the Petroglyph Point and Spruce Canyon Trails.

0.5 Turn left (east) up the stairs onto the Petroglyph Point Trail.

1.2 Reach a small set of ruins in the cliff side.

1.5 Arrive at Pictograph Point. The trail climbs to the top of the mesa and turns left (northeast).

2.3 Enjoy nice views of the canyon to the southwest and the museum to the northwest.

2.7 Cross a slickrock area and view the Spruce Tree House ruins down below.

2.9 Turn right (west) back onto the paved trail and arrive back at the trailhead and the Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum.
