How to Feed

Your Ball Python should be fed outside of the vivarium if possible. This eliminates the risk of your snake ingesting any of the substrate used to line your vivarium. If the snake ingests too much substrate it may become unhealthy, ill or may regurgitate its food. It is best to avoid handling your python for about 48 hours after feeding as they are likely to regurgitate their meal.

Braining a Mouse

If your python seems reluctant to eat, ‘braining’ a mouse is a good way to encourage feeding. Snakes are attracted to the scent of brain matter. If you cut, or use a needle to poke a hole, into the skull of a mouse to expose its brain tissue it will increase the chance of the python feeding.
