After traveling for weeks, hopping between independent towns, Alojzy found his way to the cliffside bordering the Blood Sea. Below the cliff, a small town waited, only a half-day walk if his calculations were correct. He was far enough from Evylain to no longer feel threatened. And with the sight of the Blood Sea, he imagined nowhere else to build his new home and pledge to Moltod.

He closed his eyes, letting Moltod’s mist wrap around him. He had spent days imagining his new home. Now, he pictured it bright in his mind’s eye: a simple, one-room stone home with all his living essentials and a small altar to Moltod.

Please, Moltod, I pray you will let this work. I am controlling the chaos and abstract. Please, if you have given me this magic, then let me succeed. I am nothing but your loyal subject.

He inhaled once, then opened his eyes.

A smile tore open his face.

Just as he had planned, a small room had formed around him. A bed sat in the corner, with the chamber pot hidden at the foot of the bed. A small kitchen and cackling fire sat opposite his bed.

On the wall opposite the window and the door stood the altar to Moltod.

Alojzy half laughed and pressed his hand to the wall. While it still held a strange, misty exterior, to the untrained eye, no one would expect this to be anything more than a simple home.

He’d done it! Moltod had graced him with control over this horrid magic!

Who could stop him now from creating a new life here, on the cliffside? He could rebuild.

After all, wasn’t he the architect?

Building was his specialty.
