Epilogue

Even now, safely buffered by the protection of two Alphas, it's still hard for Kristine to look back at the past few years and decide which of the many nightmarish moments she has endured managed to be the worst.

It all feels like it was happening to a different person and she's just a spectator, looking in on something polite company would avert their eyes at.

"You're thinking too hard again," Tiberius chides, one arm wound steadily around her waist, the other holding onto a glass of champagne that she’s not allowed to have.

The exhibition had taken months for him to complete and the art being displayed make her blush. He had done so many pieces of her that she wonders where he finds the time to do anything else.

The display starts with her in the hospital bed, healing from her attack, looking despondent and broken - 'heartbreakingly beautiful', Tiberius would correct, holding her close and pressing his lips to the top of her head.

"You keep saying that," she murmurs, cheeks reddening at the compliment.

"And I will keep saying it until you believe me," he says as they continue down the gallery. It is open to the public and in the first few days, it was so crowded that it's almost impossible to walk through the winding halls and twisting paths. Path of the exhibit it outdoor and open only at night. 'Our first date', he says. He is regretful that he can't recreate the starry night from his other gallery, mostly because it would take too much time and he is jealous of her spending more time with Andrea when he's kept busy by his work. The Tiberius is so wonderfully romantic that she doesn't know what to do with him some days.

He begins by painting her in colors and monochromes, stark and uncompromising in charcoal or pencil, and then in technicolor with rich pastel tones, acrylic and oil paint. He paints entire rooms with just her in various poses, like his sketchbooks brought to life, of her asleep, awake, treating patients and spending time with human patients and children under the watchful eye of Mr. Romulus.

There's one of her that is black and red, of her in the hospital again following Andrea's attack, and then after that, there are paintings of her in another man's arms, loved and protected, her expression brighter, color coming back to her face, her eyes, the skin around her scars no longer so stark, the tattoos seeming to fade into the background, though still there, still done meticulously, not a stroke out of position.

"You see me so differently," she murmurs, leaning into his touch.

"I see you just as you are," he corrects.

"You're ridiculously perfect," she says, twisting around in his arms to press their lips together.

They continue down the path, watching their story unfold. There are a few pieces that he offers up for sale because he had spent too much money on this to not attempt to make a profit. There is a rather frightening long list of people interested in purchasing the pieces that are for sale.
