Wayne

“Don’t,” I warned.

Denver didn’t lift his hand from my chest. I was supposed to be mad at him. I’ve decided to give him the cold shoulder a little longer to teach him a lesson.

Denver had no idea how livid I got, watching him wade in that pool out of sheer stubbornness. He was probably freezing his ass off but he did it anyway to spite me.

Right now, it was impossible to stay angry at him. Denver’s expression turned soft, vulnerable as he stared up at me.

He apologized to me, I remembered. It was next to impossible to get Denver to admit he did something wrong.

“Wayne, let’s not fight anymore,” Denver whispered.

“You started this.” I reminded him.

“Tell me what I did wrong.”

“You know what.” I gritted out. Denver couldn’t possibly believe he was entirely blameless.

“Um, you guys going up or down?” Asked a new voice.

I looked over my shoulder and glared at the teen gawking at us. I moved my gaze to the elevator panel. We were finally on our floor.

There was no use remaining here any longer but I liked the idea of trapping Denver in one spot.

I closed my hand over Denver’s wrist and tugged him outside. The teen let out what sounded like a sigh of relief.

“What now?” Denver asked.

I realized I liked him like this. He looked and sounded a little uncertain, unsure of himself. He hadn’t pulled himself away from me either.

Denver let me lead him like a child back to our room. I held the door open for him, releasing him from my grip.

Denver went inside like a good boy. I shut the door behind me, surprised Denver approached me again. I smelled alcohol on his breath earlier.

Was he drunk?

I didn’t give a hoot, because I knew I had one too many beers as well.

The moment he rested his palm against my chest again, I unraveled. I cupped his cheek, liked how his eyes widened in surprise.

It was now or never.

I had to make my move. Both our defenses were down. I knew it was wrong, taking advantage of him, of this situation but I didn’t care.

I slanted my mouth over his and kissed him. I started tentatively at first, giving Denver the chance to pull out if he wanted.

One word from him, one shove and I would back away. I’d try my luck another time but I was scared there wouldn’t be a second chance.

Watching Denver with Ken nearly gutted me. When that Alpha flirted with Denver by the poolside, I was ready to strangle that Alpha’s neck.

I couldn’t stand seeing Denver with another man.

Denver kissed me back with a fierceness that blew me again. I moved my hand to the nape of his neck, holding him in place.

I plundered his mouth like there was no tomorrow. I bit and sucked on his lower lip. I thrust my tongue down his throat, drunk on the taste of him.

My senses sharpened, no longer dulled by alcohol. I felt completely sober. Denver sucked down on my tongue.
