AS A TRIBUTE to the relevance photography has had in the construction of Nervi's original publication, we are pleased to add to the new edition of Aesthetics and Technology in Building a selection of photographs by Hans-Christian Schink. These images of Pier Luigi Nervi's buildings were taken in 2014, during the Villa Massimo scholarship Schink held at the German Academy in Rome. The suspended atmosphere in these pictures, with their powerful yet delicate plasticity, sends an answer back to the past, capturing at once the timelessness of Nervi's shapes and their perduring life in the flow of time.
