Stenciling Techniques

Stenciling is probably my favorite technique and is something that I do in much of my work. Stenciling is a method of applying a design by brushing, sponging or spraying paint through a cutout, or a negative space, that is placed on a substrate. Images can be repeated and larger areas can be covered quickly as compared to stamping or other printmaking techniques. Stencils can be purchased, found and made and this section of the book will teach you about all three.

Unattractive floral print that I use as a tester piece for stenciling techniques and paint combinations. Eventually I will use all these pieces in one of my projects.
