Walking along the waterfront, I see an imposing building with some kind of antique architecture right by the beach. Marco tells me it is a hotel. We keep walking, hand in hand, enjoying the sun. When I see the Sea Wolf monument, I speed up. I turn to look at Marco—he has a huge grin on his face. I love that I can be the silly version of myself with him and not feel a drop of judgment. After taking a couple of selfies with the statue, I look around for the boys and Sofi but only Mati and Luca are trailing behind us. I guess Franco and Sofi are talking things out.

After walking a little bit more, we find a pizza place so we make our way in for lunch. I ask Marco to text Franco and check if he’s with Sofi. She doesn’t have a functional phone here, and I don’t want her to think we abandoned her. After a quick exchange of texts, Marco tells me they’re together and they’ll catch up with us later. Relieved, I enjoy lunch with the boys and my man. Things are getting back on track for a great birthday weekend.
