HAIDEN

Waking up next to Logan and being able to kiss and cuddle him was like being in a dream. It put a smile on my face, and I had no doubt it would every day I was lucky enough to wake up with him curled up in my arms and his scent filling my lungs. I fucking loved it, and I was so damn glad he wanted this as much as I did.

I still couldn’t believe what an idiot I’d been. Here I was thinking he was just being shy, but instead, he hadn’t even been sure that I wanted him… that I loved him. So fucking much.

Thank god he finally said something to me. We were definitely going to need to work on our communication skills.

And now that I was finally seeing him for what he was to me, what he meant to me, the love I felt for him was already expanding. I couldn’t even imagine how big that love would be in a few months, or hell, in a few years, in a lifetime. It was already so much bigger than I ever thought possible.

Logan’s hair tickled my nose, and I tightened my arms around him. In the night, we’d shifted around so now my front was plastered to his back like I was trying to protect him from anything that might come at us.

I stifled a yawn and nuzzled into his neck, holding him a little tighter. God, I couldn’t get enough of this. I couldn’t get enough of him.

He started to stir and didn’t hesitate to lean back into me and lace our fingers together. I kissed his neck, and he hummed in approval. Then he lifted our combined hands and kissed the center of my palm.

I smiled against his skin and murmured, “Good morning.”

“Good morning.” He yawned. “I was a little afraid that I’d wake up and realize that last night was a dream.”

Kissing his soft skin again, I gave him a squeeze. “Definitely not a dream.”

He pressed his ass against my morning wood—something I would’ve tried to avoid pressing into him in the past. “I know.”

“Good.” I leaned up on my elbow and rolled him, intending to kiss those sweet lips, but when I leaned in, I got a palm to the face instead. With amusement, I asked, “What are you doing?”

“You can’t kiss me. Your breath is awful.”

I barked out a laugh. “Wow. You’re so romantic in the mornings.”

He shrugged, but I could see amusement in his eyes. “Sorry, not sorry. I don’t want to smell or taste your gross morning breath.”

I snorted and settled for kissing his temple. “Fine, we can go brush our teeth, but only if you promise to kiss me after.”

“Try and stop me.”

With a chuckle, I pulled him back into my arms and settled on the pillow, not ready to let him go yet, even if I wasn’t going to get my make-out session like I wanted.

I maneuvered him so I could at least press kisses to his cheek and temple and bury my nose in his hair to inhale his warm morning scent.
