Lajevardi and Hussain (2012) proposed feature extraction, selection and classification algorithms for detecting facial expression. Modules like face detection, feature collection, optimal feature selection and finally classification to recognize face. Generally, AdaBoost algorithm detects face followed by feature extraction. Input frames are processed for feature characteristics by various attributes extraction algorithm namely log Gabor filter, Gabor filter, LBP and HLAC. Informative features are obtained using filter feature and wrapper selection methods. Experiments are conducted using several facial expression databases shows comparison of different algorithms.
