7. While your rock is submerged, use a cotton swab with your other hand to collect the leftover polish that’s in the water.

8. Remove the rock from the water and put it on a drying rack or parchment paper. Don’t be alarmed if you see an air bubble on your design. Do not touch it until your design is completely dry. If you pop it too early it will reveal the white space underneath the polish.

9. Seal your finished designs. (See Chapter 2 for more information on sealing.)

ADVANCED DIRECTIONS—CREATING FLOWER AND ZIGZAG DESIGNS:

1. Start with a rock that is completely white. (See page 13 for how to prep your rocks.)

2. Add a drop from the brush of your nail polish into the water.

3. Make sure your brush is close to the water. If it’s too far away, the polish will sink to the bottom of your container.
