Anke Svensson knew her husband had cheated on her again, and now she was ready to make sure that it would be for the last time. Hauling her large suitcase through the Underground network, with her two young boys Gunnar and Britt in tow, she was finally putting her grand plan into action.

She was going to divorce Mathias. That was a given at this point, after the irrefutable evidence she had seen that proved he had been up to his old tricks again. A legal separation would hit him hard emotionally but also, and more importantly, financially. She would be entitled to half of his money, which was a considerable amount, what with him being the owner of a global kitchen design company and all. But stopping at a simple divorce would be letting him off the hook too easily. She would still have to return to Sweden and explain to everybody what had happened, while he would probably remain in London and keep on screwing the next pretty young thing to get a job in his showroom.

She had to do more than just end the relationship. She had to almost end him, and she knew the perfect way to do it.

Anke put a protective arm out in front of her boys as they reached the platform and watched the next train coming towards them. Perfect timing. She could only hope the rest of her masterplan would go as smoothly. She ushered her children onto the train, which wasn’t easy with all the luggage they were carrying. Gunnar and Britt had packed their own suitcases, which was probably a disaster waiting to happen, but she figured anything they had left behind could be sent to them at a later date. The important thing was that they had made it out of the house without Mathias knowing they had gone. By the time he discovered that his latest dalliance had been rumbled, Anke and the boys would already be 35,000ft up in the sky and halfway back to Gothenburg.

The trio bundled themselves into the carriage just in time before the doors slid shut behind them. She let the youngsters take a seat while she stood, and the train moved on. There was simply too much adrenaline running through her to entertain sitting down. She checked her watch and saw that everything was right on schedule. When she had concocted this scheme a couple of weeks earlier, she hadn’t been sure she could pull it off. Getting to the airport was the easy bit. But the rest of it had taken some serious planning, and it was out of her hands now as to how successful that part of her revenge would be. As she watched Gunnar and Britt teasing each other over an electronic game they were playing, she had that terrible thought again.

What if she had gone too far with the events she had put into motion?

He had cheated, but did that mean he deserved to be destroyed? But then he had destroyed her, their marriage and their family.
