Chapter-7
The parking garage stood four stories tall and took up an entire block by itself. The massive place still houses loads of cars. Each car was dirty as the next one beside it. It was like walking into a museum or modern times and seeing the leftovers of the world.
There was a creepy silence the filled the area one that gave you the goosebumps to feel. There was no telling what could hide around any corner or vehicle. For the group, it was their only option to time was running out.
Nate took the lead and ran into the carport and passed the car barrier. The whole place felt like a tomb, it was cold and quiet. Each footstep seemed to echo for miles within the garage. Each car, truck, even van was parked nice and neat in its spot. As if the owner would be back any second and jump in and leave to go home.
Frank was looking at other items no one else seemed to notice once stepping inside.
Every car had its dirt and grime on it, but some of it, not all, had been wiped clean in places.
There were handprints where something was looking in. was its people or the undead looking for a meal. On the back, you could see where an undead had rubbed up against the back and whipped it clear of dirt.
The sunlight was fading fast, and the night was soon to be upon them.
They needed to find a place to lie low for a bit and wait the night out and the undead. But where could they do that? Matt thought.
âLetâs head up and find a place to hide out,â Nate told them and looked around for the up ramp to the second floor.
The others followed his lead and ran along with him. Every garage has two exits. They knew that. But the other looks to lead out right where the other runners were out in the street waiting. So, with no other option but to head up, Matt did So, once again. Maybe they will find Someone place to wait out the night.
Nate in lead ran up the ramp and once on the second floor, he found it clear.
This floor had fewer cars than the first one.
This floor had a couple of cars have pulled out and doors left open. In the far back was a truck that looked to have smashed into the wall trying to make the turn down to the first floor?
Sounds of running came from below them; the echo of each step sounded like it came from all over. But they knew where they were coming from. The construction site runner had made it through and was inside the garage with them.
Nate took back off at a run and moved toward a van and tried the doors. They were all locked So; he ran to the next one and tried it. This time he was lucky, and the door to the truck next to it was unlocked. Opening it, he ushered Kimberly inside it and shut the door.
