Seven has an increasing sense of possession and does a better job than earlier of taking care of possessions. He may even help clean up his room. The childâs feeling of possession now definitely extends to school things. He likes to have a schoolbag that contains his own pencils, eraser, and whatever else he needs. There is considerable interest in swapping things with others, although this tends to be more at an âeven swapâ level than involve any actual bartering.
There is at this age an increasing interest in money, and while money seems to burn a hole in the pockets of some, others are interested in saving at least some of their money. A few are ready for an allowance.
