Rugged terrain, intimidating wildlife, and a plethora of trails often leave visitors bewildered when it comes to selecting their hiking adventure. Day hikes cost between $10 and $40 and visit many of the most spectacular and popular locations. They are only offered between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Rates depend on group size and duration, but the best bargain is a full-day (8 hours) hike for $171 (for 1 person) or $96/person for two hikers. Guided backpacking trips venture deep into the high country between June and September. They typically cost $100 per person per day. The rate includes permits, meals, tents, stove, and water filters.
