At first, this pose can feel challenging if you haven’t done much stretching in the targeted areas. When I first tried this pose, I could not bend forward anywhere near my knees. But, persistence and gravity lead to mastery and enable you, over time, to rest your head on your knees. But, you benefit no matter how little you can stretch when you start. And, you experience such a feeling of accomplishment when you finally can reach your knees!

Additional pointers:

1) Keep your legs straight at the knees throughout the pose. It may be tempting to bend them. Don’t. Only bend forward as you can without straining while keeping your knees straight.
