MJ read the words below the photo aloud. “The wealthy Raffles Brothers hope to acquire the Egyptian Bastet Cat statue. The artifact would enter their vast private collection after being shown to the public for the last time at the Louvre Museum on Friday.”

“Wait,” Eddie started. “So you’re telling me that even if we do somehow catch the Ballerina, the Bastet Cat might still be lost forever to those dastardly Raffles Brothers.”

“And there’s nothing we can do about it!” added MJ.

MJ leaned her head on the train window, taking in the scenery. As the sun went down, the big city gave way to small towns and beautiful rolling hills. Ordinarily, she would have been thrilled about an overnight train journey. But instead, she was feeling utterly hopeless as she dozed off.
