How to Edge Band Plywood

If you plan on making cabinets, Murphy beds, or anything with veneered plywood, you will need to know how to finish the edges of the pieces before you assemble them. This is only for edges that will be seen, so you can mock assemble it without fasteners to figure out which edges need to be finished. Once you know which pieces need banding set them aside.

You will need:

Pre-glued edge banding (one that correlates with the wood species veneered on the plywood)

An iron

Scissors

Double or Single Veneer Edge Trimmer

Small smooth block of wood

Sanding block (120 grit paper)

Bench Clamp
