Changing the account type

Windows offers two different user account types:

Administrator. This type of account has wide (but not complete) access to the computer. An administrator can install any type of program or device; make changes that affect the entire system; and add, change, and delete user accounts. Note, however, that the administrator can’t examine the private documents of any other user.

Standard user. This type of account has access to only some of the computer’s features. A standard user can view her own files, view those files that have been set up to be shared with other users, perform her own customizations, and change her password.
