Your last move attacked Black’s rook which will delay any developing move he might have had in mind.

Discounting pawns, your pieces have around 40 different moves available. (They’re not all good moves of course; this is simply a measure of how much space is controlled by them.)

Black has less than half that number.

You have squeezed him into a small space and you only have to carry on the good work to win the game. You need to be careful not to let him get more breathing space. You won’t, for example, go in for any piece exchanges – unless, of course, they’re to win material.

Your key idea is to tighten your stranglehold on the game and to double your rooks on the seventh rank from where they will checkmate the king.
