Never in his wildest imagination did Alec think heâd ever hear those three tender words from anyone else. He thought heâd die on this forsaken mountain, mauled by his pack mates or their enemies, forgotten by the rest of the world. Kris and he wanted their cursed bloodline to end here, but here was Chip, giving him a new reason to live.
âSorry,â Chip blurted. âThat came out spur of the moment. Itâs stupid, I know. I mean, I only arrived here yesterday.â
âThose words mean so much more to me than you know,â Alec said. He kissed Chip on the mouth, gently and slowly, before answering him. âGive me time to say them back.â
Softness had been beaten out of him since he was a kid. Alec didnât know how to react to Chipâs confession. Damn the Fire Claws Pack and his father for turning him into this, someone who could barely express his own emotions.
âTimeâs not on our side,â Chip whispered. The submissive wolf looked stricken, miserable.
âI told you. Iâll find a way,â Alec reassured him. âFor now, relax. Iâm going to give you a good time. Iâll make you addicted to me so youâll want no other man.â
Chip touched his unshaven cheek and smiled up at him so sweetly that Alec wondered for the thousandth time what Chip was doing with a killer like him. Chip didnât belong in their world, never did. Alec always thought Chip would be better off if he werenât born a werewolf in the Fire Claws Pack. He deserved so much more. A better life and a better mate.
Too bad all Chip had was him.
âDonât you get it, Alec? You ruined love for me. Youâre it for me,â Chip whispered.
âMy mate.â Alec kissed the top of Chipâs forehead. His cock had become rock-hard again, thanks to his shifter genetics. He pressed it against Chipâs belly. Alec couldnât wait to claim Chip in the most intimate way possible. Heâd own Chip. Anyone on this mountain who so much as looked at his Chip wrong would receive a hell of reckoning.
âDid you just call me your mate?â Chip asked.
Alec was beyond words. He slid off Chip and stroked his cock. Chip watched the movement of his hands. Alec didnât miss how hard Chip had gotten either, close to blowing his load.
âOn fours. Move or Iâll do it for you.â
Alec sounded like a crude savage, a rough mountain man who hadnât gotten any, but he didnât care. His wolf was on the verge of spilling from his skin, but this time, it didnât seek to shed blood. Alec didnât want to maul Kris or any of his pack mates. Violence lay far away from his mind. He only wanted Chip.
Chip scrambled from the couch and landed disgracefully on the ground, ass first.
Alec couldnât help it. He chuckled. The sound of his laugher seemed foreign to him. When was the last time he felt so at ease? So free?
Chip scowled at him cutely. âI know. Iâm not the most graceful werewolf around.
