I got up to my feet and put my jeans on.

“Was I in your dream world?” she asked.

“Of course,” I said. “Who else?”

She jumped up, hugged me, kissed me. I could taste myself on her lips and tongue. “Oh, Jack, I love you like something crazy!”

I said the same.

“Stay, why don’t you. Just stay and I’ll love you with my mouth all day and night.”

We had yet to have actual sex, intercourse. Everything we did in bed, or in her car, was with hands and mouths.

“Gotta get back to work,” I told her, kissing her again. “I’m an hour late as is.”

“The hell with that crappy job.”

“It may be crappy, but it’s the only job I have. Some of us have to work for a living, you know.”

“I’ll take care of you.”

“That’s what you say now.”

“I just want us to be together, always,” she said, pouting.

“That day will come,” I told her.

“When?”

“Soon.”

“Not soon enough.”

There were some practical issues to deal with before we could be together as man and wife—her husband, my wife. I was debating about keeping the girlfriend, knowing that eventually there would be a mistress. All married men cheat at one point, as do all married women. It’s the way the world works—at least that’s how it worked in this neck of the globe, Hittsville, population 30,000, a shabby town on the tri-state border of Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.

“When will I see you again?” she asked.

“Same time tomorrow?”

“I’ll be here, darling.”

One last kiss, I patted her on the rear—what a wonderful, hard butt it was—and left the hotel room.
