COM CHATTER

- HELLFIRE: air-to-surface missile

- HOWITZER: high-trajectory, high-power artillery

- M4 CARBINE: short and light automatic assault rifle

- TRACER ROUNDS: used in bullet magazines to track direction of gunfire

The Wraith descended in a wide, spiraling arc, its nose pointed down toward the rocky ridge. Recessed panels on the Wraith’s underside folded open, revealing two Hellfire missiles. At the pilot’s click of a switch, one of the missiles lanced down into the cluster of unmanned pack howitzers.

KA-BOOOOM!

The howitzers exploded in a blaze of heat and thunder. Their twisted wreckage flew off the ridge and down the mountainside.

The pilot spun the Wraith in midair and launched the second (and last) Hellfire missile into the cluster of mortars on the other side of the emplacement.

WIRRRRRSH!
