Since the chart is not that portable, two other closeat-hand approaches when you’re pendling on the fly are to pendle your watch face (assuming it’s not digital) or your hand. Some people have a small pendulum on their key chain (available from the ASD bookstore) that they can use for purposes like this without attracting too much curiosity.

With a watch, the 12 stands for the zero point; 11 is a Neutral, indicating it’s not the right approach or timing, or the question should be asked some other way. An advantage to the watch is that it also gives you a more precise number: a pendulum pointing midway between 3 and 4 is easy to interpret as 35%, for example (see figure 9).
