Who Is Most Influential?

It can be very difficult to evaluate leaders who are more gifted and skilled than you are. It’s always easier to judge those less talented. So how do you figure out who the main influencer is? Ask these questions:

1. When points are being made, whom does everyone agree with?

2. When questions are asked, whom does everyone look to for answers?

3. When conflict arises, whom does everyone defer to?

4. Who is the person everybody listens to when he or she speaks?

You may not be able to make this determination quickly. You may need to see people interacting in a variety of situations over time. But if you pay attention, you should be able to figure it out.
