CHAPTER 16

They hopped in to the car. Guy grinned.

“We won’t even have to say a word. Your ward and Madison.” Suede grinned and nodded. Suede chuckled.

“They might be highly educated but they are awfully slow.” Guy chuckled and nodded.

Guy drove them home. They both walked through to the lounge. Reese and Gordon were sitting in the lounge eating grapes. Guy smiled. Demi was busy making coffee. Guy called.

“We’re home.” Demi chuckled.

“We?” She came around the corner and beamed. Reese and Gordon looked up.

“Hey Suede.” Suede grinned. She walked over and took a grape. She popped it in her mouth and nodded. Reese grinned.

Guy sat down. Demi put the tray of coffee down. Arthur walked in to the lounge. He took a seat. Guy was very quiet. Suede looked at him and smiled. She winked at him.

“Okay, Mum, you need to sit down.” Demi sat down. Reese looked at Guy.

“Oh, oh, and we haven’t even done anything wrong yet.” Guy chuckled and looked at Reese. He put his hands together and held them under his chin.

“All right. I have a lot to tell you.” Everyone stared at Guy.

“On Monday. The last day of the month. I am handing in our notice on this place.” Gordon looked at Guy.

“We are moving?” Guy nodded.

“But we can’t move. I just managed to get the Avocado tree growing. I just planted it.” Suede smothered her little smile. Gordon loved gardening. Guy looked at Gordon.

“Gordon, then put it back into the pot. And take it with.” Gordon nodded.

“Okay. As I was saying. We are moving at the end of the month. So we need to pack everything. Reese, Gordon. You need to make sure your things are ready to go. And I mean everything. Anything in the garage. I don’t want anything left behind. And we have been here a long time.” Reese nodded.

“Okay, but where are we going?” Guy smiled.

“We are going to be moving on to a bigger property. A much bigger property. There is a garage for each of your cars. And a big enough room for each of you.” Gordon nodded.

“How big is this property?” Guy chuckled.

“Do you want to go and see for yourselves?” Everyone nodded. Demi looked at Arthur.

“But where are the boys moving to?” Guy looked up at Demi and then at Arthur.

“Mum, Dad, that means you as well.” Arthur looked at Demi.

“Oh!” Guy nodded.

“Would you like to go and take a look?” Arthur nodded.

“This is pretty sudden. When did you organize this?” Guy nodded.

“Dad, wait and see.” Everyone bundled into Guy and Arthur’s cars. Reese, Demi and Arthur followed Guy who drove Suede and Gordon. Arthur roared with laughter as they drove.

“What is it Dad?” Arthur chuckled.

“Reese, you will see. This is the best day of my life.” Demi nodded and grinned.

They pulled up to the property. Reese stared as they drove past the main house. He whispered.

“Who the hell lives here?” Demi chuckled.

“Wait and see.” Arthur followed as Guy drove to the cottage and parked in one of the garages.
