“You know, I don’t think I like self-healing carriages,” Bob said as Keith barreled toward the monster that had spotted them from nearly a mile away.

“Oh, yeah? Why’s that?” Keith asked as he placed the carriage into ramming mode, a wide grin stretching his lips as the carriage rocketed forward even faster than it had the day before.

“Because it allows you to behave like an absolute maniac without fear of breaking your expensive death machine!” Bob yelled.

The monster turned in their direction, unleashing an earth-shaking roar. Then its jaw split wide, and a spray of flaming tar blasted from its open mouth. Keith plowed straight forward, triggering his Tunnel Psycho, the newest addition to All-Terrain Psycho. The world warped as the carriage flashed away, avoiding the spray of blazing tar and reappearing an instant later at the monster’s flank.

Keith’s grin widened as he triggered Indestructible. They were all pinned back in their seats in an instant, Bob screeching like a little girl as the carriage blasted forward. The monster, still focusing on its now-missing target, didn’t even see what hit it. One second, it was alive. The next, Keith had plowed straight through it, ripping a hole through metal scales, muscle, bone, and organs before blasting out the opposite side.

Blood and gore fountained around them as the carriage emerged, hitting the ground and spinning as Keith wrenched the wheel to one side, stopping them almost short.

“I think I’m gonna…No, I’m definitely gonna puke,” Bob said, shoving the door open and dropping to the ground, heaving up the contents of his guts.

Keith cracked the door and stepped out, turning to examine the gore-covered carriage. True to the Indestructible skill’s description, there wasn’t so much as a mark on the carriage’s surface.

He turned to the monster, a metallic land dragon, which was in the process of toppling over, a gaping hole having been plowed right through its center. He checked his notifications.

“Well, I’d call that a rousing success, wouldn’t you?” Keith asked as he approached the now-dead Raid Boss.

This one had only been Level 80, unlike Tankier’s 88, but it was significantly better than any of his other Raid Bosses, so he wasn’t about to complain.

“Holy layer cake!” Tac exclaimed. “You went through that thing like Cousin Anthony through a box of cannoli!”

“Holy layer cake?” Keith repeated curiously as he approached the monster and cracked its jaw so he could collect the Essence.

“I’m always talking about cannoli, but there are other pastries out there. Just seeing if anything else works, you know?”

“No, I don’t,” Keith said, straightening from the monster and examining it.

Like all land dragons, the creature resembled a giant lizard more than the flying variety. It was stockier, with heavier scales made of something gleaming, and had heavy forelimbs covered in protrusions. Its jaw was elongated, which meant it was clearly specialized in crushing and breath attacks. The long tail had been glowing from within, black light illuminating the brighter scales.
