One keeps on saying, âKind sir,â
while inside, heâs scheming to get you.
Their fathers were people so vile
I wouldnât have them as sheepdogs!
They canât even blush without smearing
their faces all over with rouge!
They seem to themselves to be giantsâ
to me theyâre no bigger than crickets.
When I start to declaim a poem,
they gripe, as if it were Greek:
âSpeak in a language we know!
This is just Ashkelon babble!â
Watch me tread them like mud,
for I have a tongue like a pitchfork.
Why am I ringing my bell?â
Your ears are just covered with foreskin!
Your necks are too scrawny to bear
the golden adornments I fashion.
Why donât those idiots open
their mouths to the rain of my clouds;
my fragrance would drip down upon themâ
the cinnamon scent of my clouds.
